This cream is indicated for the short-term treatment of moderate to severe melasma of the face. Patients are advised to avoid sun exposure after starting treatment and should use a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.
Pharmacology: This cream contains three active ingredients: Fluocinolone Acetonide, Hydroquinone, and Tretinoin. While the mechanism of action in treating melasma is unknown, Fluocinolone Acetonide is a corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory properties, Hydroquinone is a depigmenting agent that may inhibit melanin synthesis, and Tretinoin is a keratolytic agent.
Administration & Dosage:
Interaction: Avoid medicated or abrasive soaps, cleansers, cosmetics with drying effects, high-alcohol products, astringents, other irritants, or keratolytic drugs. Also, avoid taking photosensitizing medications simultaneously.
Contraindications: Individuals with a history of hypersensitivity, allergy, or intolerance to this product or any of its components should avoid using it.
Side Effects: This cream may cause severe allergic reactions in a small number of patients. Possible side effects include breathing difficulties, severe asthma attacks, mild to moderate redness, peeling, burning, dryness, or itching of the skin.
